NIB - Perfect Condition Collectable - Vintage Action Figure In 2000, McFarlane Toys released a Shaft (Samuel L. Jackson) action figure as part of their Movie Maniacs series three 3 toy line. Accessories included are a handgun, sunglasses and a replica of the film's poster with a skulls and bones base. Originally based on a series of novels by Ernest Tidyman, a white Clevelander, “Shaft” told the story of a black Harlem private detective who was smooth with the ladies and willing to help out a brother in need. In 2015, Dynamite Comics released a comic book series based on the original Tidyman novels.
