Vintage Warner Brothers Costume Department Satin Dina Bar-el Gown 30's Bias Cut with Chiffon Straps and Long Train
Gorgeous red silk gown from Dina Bar-el. Same style and designer dress as the yellow dress Kate Hudson wore in How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. Although a total 30's gown copy it was made in the resent past so it is very wearable and not fragile at all.
The Los Angeles–based designer, who entered the apparel business more than 30 years ago with a vision to start her own label Bar-el’s couture and bridal collection uses 100 percent silk charmeuse and silk chiffon to create glamorous retro looks from the ’40s and ’30s.
Features elegant lines with details such as sheering, pinning, low back, and fishtail gathering.
Bar-el gowns have received attention from celebrities such as Alicia Silverstone and Jennifer Garner, who like the designer’s clean, sexy design technique.
Special-occasion dress buyer Jane Berkowitz of Neiman Marcus said the designer is mostly known for her ability to create dramatic silhouettes using fine-quality satin fabric. “Dina does a fine job with body-conscious evening gowns—she cuts them just right so they hang very well,”
