Edmund Henry Osthaus was born in Hildesheim, Germany in 1858. He was a painter and avid sportsman who owned champion, prizewinning field dogs. Is it any wonder that he would become remembered for his sporting scenes and landscapes which usually featured pedigreed dogs?
This vintage wooden framed artwork is a Litho in USA print by the Arthur A. Kaplan Co. Inc. NYC. L. 25. Limited edition lithograph series. This features a white and brown spotted Irish Setter on point while hunting in a golden grassy field in the wintery woods. Gorgeous earth tones.
Very distressed with wear and damage as pictured, as there was never any glass protection to cover. In my opinion this adds to the antique beauty of this century old piece.

@odomeli hi, I’m so sorry we just moved last month and we’re still in the process of unpacking, but I will let you know as soon as I find it. I wanna say it’s 8 x 10, but I will verify!
