Cult fave, swooning again over this rare & gorgeous Art Deco era Teacup & saucer. (For display purposes, it’s sitting on top of a hand painted Limoges dinner plate, not included). In the Calvados pattern, heavy rich embossed raised gold design, on an ivory background, total Luxury. Made by Gerard, Dufraisseix & Abbot (GDA) of the Limoges region of France. Back stamp markings: GDA France, Ch. Haviland Limoges. Antique item. Imported from France. GDA dates this between 1900 - 1941. Imagine how elevated one must have felt being served off of such fine accoutrements during The Great Depression, crazy huh?! This piece is nearly flawless except for a flea bite rough ding near the cup edge by the handle, circled in red. The last picture also circled in red, shows the ding from a different angle, not a big deal at all. Price reflects this minor difference. I have more pieces in this pattern, and other complimentary pieces that look stunning mixed and layered together. (For display purposes, it’s sitting on top of a hand painted Limoges dinner plate, not included).
