EUC A mid-century pewter creamer and sugar from Selangor Pewter. The creamer has a diameter of 3.5" and is a height of 3". The sugar is also 3.5" diameter and 3" in height; when lidded it measures 4.5" to the top of the finial. These are heavy pieces with an aged patina. They can be polished with a silver polish/cleaner and can also be washed with dish soap and water if rinsed and dried immediately. They have wonderful rings around the bottom and one toward the top indicative of mid-century design. Selangor was founded in 1885 by a Chinese man, Yong Koon living in Malaysia. He strictly worked with pewter producing Chinese ceremonial altar pieces and when the British colonials arrived he added tankards and tea services. They are in business today as Royal Selangor and are the world's largest pewter manufacturer but have expanded into other materials. There are signs of age with the patina but they are free of dents and cracks. They are usable or would be beautiful decor in a kitchen or china cabinet! Thanks for looking!
