Truly exquisite wood carved vintage fan, handmade in Spain! Height 12 inches, width 21 inches when opened all the way. Excellent condition. I worked as a buyer and manager of a vintage store in Coconut Grove, Florida in the 1980’s. One of my customers gave this fan to me as a gift. She told me that in 1959, the day before she got one of the last flights out of Cuba, she was standing on Varadero Beach, looking out over the water for the last time. An older lady approached her and they got to talking. The lady gave her this fan and said, don’t ever forget Cuba. Don’t forget what we had, and what we lost. I always intended to give it to any daughter I would someday have, but I was never able to have children.
