Paving the way to the Bicentennial of American Independence in 1976, Wedgewood introduced a series of Jasperware plates featuring scenes associated with American History leading to the declaration of Independence.The center design of the 8" plate is Dartmouth,an East India Trading Company Tea Shop being raised by angry patriots.The spire of the old State house can be seen in the background.The thirteen original colonies are represented by the stars going round the rim of the plate
