bloondie2 hello, my friend! I hope you're having a fabulous 2024! I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind listing the measurement of the hips on this gorgeous skirt? I didn't realize that you're a Rhode Island girl! I lived in RI from age 15-28 ish! I just started going through your closet (like I promised a month ago! Your dresses are beautiful! bloondie2 @mcrippen17 Unfortunately! You're hysterical! I first lived in N. Scituate. When I got married, I lived in Johnston. Coincidentally, my ex husband is from Pawtucket. He lived on Bacon St. right behind the Paw Sox staduim. Fourth of July fireworks were fantastic from his back yard!

bloondie2 Hi! thanks for adding the picture of the hip measurement. I know the tag states dry clean only. Did you have it dry cleaned, or did you take a chance and launder it at home? Also, do you know if you can use a steamer on a partially silk fabric? Or should I use an iron on the inside? I should probably know this, but my mom is the laundry whisperer! When in doubt, take it to mom!

mcrippen17 @bloondie2 You’re very welcome! True confessions. I washed it. While there are obviously clothes that do need to be dry cleaned, most of the time I think it’s a scam! I feel the same way about health insurance😂 I have never used a streamer. I ironed from inside out. I like to iron the clothes I list to be sure there are no flaws. I even iron before I pack them…my husband thinks I’m crazy😂 My name is Martha by the way!

bloondie2 @mcrippen17 Hi Martha! I'm Stephanie. I completely agree with your logic, that's why I asked! And I'm grateful for your honesty! I typically use a steamer, but it depends on how heavy the fabric is. A steamer is so much easier for tops with pleats or lots of detail. I appreciate that you iron your items, especially before listing. I don't know how some people expect to sell something that is a wrinkled mess. Or hanging lopsided! Presentation is everything!

mcrippen17 @bloondie2 Good morning Stephanie! We may be the same person. I am flabbergasted by some listings. Have some pride…iron or steam the darn clothes. Why would I buy something that looks like crap?😂😂 My daughter told me to get a fabric shaver. I used it on a Tahari sweater I sold and promptly put a hole in it! I cancelled the sale obviously!! Sometimes I ask myself what the heck I’m doing😂 I blame my daughters for getting me into this.
