Collector's Barbie! Authentic 1962 "Fashion Queen" Model #870

Beautiful Barbie Doll from 1962. This "Fashion Queen" model has molded plastic hair to accommodate her many wigs (not included). The '62 model did not have the blue headband that came out in 63, so I gave her a cute blue gingham headbow to match her dainty dress. This model pre-dates the bendable legs. Torso & limbs are solid plastic with closely matching skin tone, not yellowed by age. Barely noticeable greening/oxidation around the earrings (rare!). Some minor paint wear to the hair, finger nails & toe nails. Painted facial features in excellent vintage condition (missing a tiny bit of coral lipstick). Overall, no scratches, rubs or abrasions. Very clean. Trademarked "Mattel" & dated on her bottom. "Japan" marked on the bottom of her foot. Excellent vintage condition with only minimal signs of being well loved. Barbie's dress is the blue & white stripe Movie Date, Couture Style #933. It has a cute square neckline, fitted bodice & full poofy skirt with an overlay of sheer white organza. Snaps in the back. "Barbie" tag inside the skirt. Freshly & gently soaked in OxyClean, which removed the yellowing of age. There is a very small hole right in the front below the bow neckline (see next to last pic). I didn't attempt repair, but it looks easy enough to do with a tiny dot of iron-on webbing/patching. Other than that, the dress is in very good vintage conditon.
