Set of 2 Hand Painted Japanese Chartreuse/Moss Green Gold Imari Peacock Candleholders
Rare and unique hand painted Japanese Imari Peacock Candleholders. Gorgeous hand painted design features a male and a female peacock (or pheasant), intertwined on a tree branch surrounded by cherry blossoms and other larger flowers all around the piece in the loveliest shades of Chartreuse/Moss green, and gold. Surrounded by fabulous Asian blossoms and foliage, their golden feathers and beaks add the perfect touch of chic. A classic Imari piece in beautiful condition!
Imari porcelain was founded by the Yazaemon family kiln founded in 1804. After many ups and downs including fires, bankruptcy, and name changes, it became the Arita Busson Co. in 1953. The trademark was created in this era. This gorgeous gold jade green Imari vase is hand painted. Its elegant detail will make a lovely conversation piece. Although it is Japanese, it would add much to many Devore styles.
