Vintage Chanel Small Classic Flap crafted from rare black lizard skin with iconic 24 carat gold plated hardware. A highly collectible early example from Series 1, produced between 1989 and 1991, representing the very beginning of Chanel’s numbered era and some of the finest craftsmanship the house ever produced. The bag features a structured silhouette in glossy black lizard leather, a front flap with signature CC turn lock closure, and an interwoven leather and gold plated chain strap that can be worn on the shoulder or as a short crossbody. The interior is lined in black leather and includes a main compartment with two pockets and a dedicated lipstick holder, reflecting classic Chanel functionality paired with luxury. Following Chanel’s 2018 decision to discontinue the use of exotic skins, vintage lizard pieces have become increasingly rare and sought after. Condition
Good vintage condition with visible signs of age and wear consistent with careful use. Tarnishing, scratches, and some loss of gold plating on the hardware are present. Minor chipping along the edges of the CC turn lock, hidden when closed. Slight creasing on the underside of the flap, minor exterior scuffs, and wear to the interior leather.
