Signed, stamped Sterling turquoise pendant by Navajo Silversmith Howard Nelson. Verified his stamp.
Purchased for me by my husband from the Heard Museum about 5 years ago. Comes in original box. Photo #12 best shows actual color.
🚫Google the stamps. There are websites you can verify stamps on. There are fake stamps out there, so make sure you aren’t paying top dollar for something that’s not authentic, unless you really just love the item, I guess. Also, many artists do sign their work (name and/or stamp) so a little research can help. **2ND EXAMPLE: Last 2 photos are a different listing, but using for another example to show artist hallmark (stamp) and quality of metal and stone should be visible. A lot of artisans include beautiful metalwork.
⚜️I respect everyone’s right to choose what they love and place a different value on an item, regardless of its sourcing. My intent here is just to help people buy with full knowledge of what is being purchased. Like, for instance, Jay King makes some nice pieces but many may not know he is NOT Native American. He sold Native American jewelry (their work) to put himself through school and eventually started making his own jewelry. So, it’s not Native American jewelry and you may want to go outside PM to see what his jewelry sells for, on average.
I DECIDED TO WEAR THIS A LITTLE LONGER. MAY BE BACK FOR SALE NEXT YEAR.
