7 3/8" Charlie Favour Sterling, Turquoise, and leather cuff bracelet. Clean condition with no issues.
Charlie Favour, a native of Arizona, began braiding leather when he was an eleven-year-old boy growing up around ranches and rodeos. In 1970, he started doing leatherwork professionally, and opened a leather and Native American art store in Aspen, Colorado. Ten years later, he settled in northern New Mexico where he divides his time between Santa Fe and his studio overlooking Abiquiu Lake.
Throughout his career, Charlie has been a serious student of Native American crafts and the leatherwork of old-time cowboys. He has achieved a level of expertise in many areas, including leather tooling and braiding, hand-tanning hides, beadwork and creating traditional Native American footwear.
Charlie’s intricately designed jewelry appeals equally to men and women, and is easily worn by both sexes far even beyond Santa Fe. Don’t be surprised to see his bracelets on farmers’ wrists in Iowa as well as on those of Wall Street financiers.
Charlie is married to Teresa del Rito, an artist known for her Milagros made from salvaged wood and metal.
