TRUE Vintage- gorgeous 1960's kitschy, fitted, blue floral on white garden party dress. Get your tiny sandwiches! This beauty caught my eye at a great vintage store in Hollywood. I was in a rush and didn't try it on. (Neglecting rules of thrifting 101) It's doesn't fit me quite right but it's darling. Neckline features unique pleating of extra fabric underneath cinch strips (pictured) Back stays zipped well but could use a hook and eye added to the very top. Great deep pockets. Waist has a belt for cinching in. I like to be very open about ideal sizing so you can get a sense of whether or not this garment will work for you. The original paper tag inside says it's size 18. It's from the 60's however when sizing was different. I'm a size 32A bust and frankly I'd say a bit more bust is a must for this one to work. Probably up to 2 cup sizes larger... Or ya know padded bras are also magic, but I needed a little too much padding to make it work. A frame that is between 135-150lbs would be ideal for this curve friendly treasure. I spent several hours removing a few very faint stains by hand- all but one or two are gone. The stain I couldn't get is at the inside of the neckline (pictured) There are some loose threads at the seams inside the garment (pictured) this was common for dresses from this time period as hand cutting the fabric was often done. What looks like "holes" on the sleeves are how they added lacy lining. Approx. Measurements: 20” Pit to Pit 30” Waist 45 ¼” Length

sorryimnotcreat Does waist stretch at all?

mysticdrip
mysticdrip @sorryimnotcreat the fabric is not really stretchy. When I lay it flat and stretch it out at the waist to capacity- I can add about an inch- so 31” waist. The hips where the pockets are have a little more give for curves and/or movement. I will say that when I felt most comfortable in it, I weighed about 135 lbs and there was some room. I hope that helps. It’s a wonderful dress.

jaclyn_16 Hi! Can you please add a picture of the seam of the waist? I’m asking because I wanna see if there’s a possibility for me to get it altered. Where are you?
Dec 29Reply
mysticdrip
mysticdrip @jaclyn_16 I’m in Colorado. Alterations could be tricky due to the zipper but give me a few minutes I will add

mysticdrip @jaclyn_16 the second photo is a pretty good close up of the back also…

mysticdrip
mysticdrip @jaclyn_16 added a few and had to delete some to put those in. That’s about as detailed as I could get of the waist. It seems like it would be tricky to alter based on the shape of the whole dress and the back zipper. It’s a 30” waist seam- vintage fabric- no stretch. I hope that helps.

mysticdrip @jaclyn_16 oh no worries sometimes people ask because it affects timing of delivery from one state to another 😀📦

jaclyn_16 One more question… how long is the belt to the furthest hole? I’m not too far off the waist measurement so maybe I could just lose some weight ha ha
Dec 31Reply
mysticdrip
mysticdrip @jaclyn_16 from the metal prong to the furthest hole is 32” you could very easily add new belt holes as the full length of the belt is 34”

mysticdrip @jaclyn_16 yes. I’m home on Friday march 13th for just a few days. Is that ok? I can remove the vacation hold Friday early afternoon. If you make that offer then, I will accept it, then turn my hold back on Saturday after I ship it. Let me know if that works for you, otherwise I could switch it off the 16th or 17th - after that it gets a bit crazy. I will accept $17

mysticdrip @jaclyn_16 ok fantastic. Keep an eye on this and I should be able to lift the vacation hold early in the day Friday march 13th and hopefully get it sent out that day. I’ll send a follow up comment right here just before I do it so you have a heads up. It’s such a special dress and I know you’ve had your eye on it. Can’t wait for you to have it. I’m on MT mountain time zone if that helps. Should be before noon mountain time.
