VTG 80s SILK CHIFFON red dress Toronto boutique Wayne Clark

This dress is of a high quality that doesn’t exist anymore. This jewel of a dress was worn once, to a family wedding in the 80s. Made by Wayne Clark in Canada, bought in a small boutique in Yorkville. This dress is off the shoulder, with sheer silk sleeves that button at the wrist. There is good elastic at the waist that stretches as much or as little as you need it to, as well as in the shoulder ruffle, so it can stay put. Every inch of this beautifully made dress is crafted in old-school silk chiffon (high quality with a soft, luxurious feel, enough weight to drape beautifully, and colorfast) in an incredibly rich garnet red. Layers on layers of luscious red ruffles, with a full circle skirt and big airy ruffle at the neckline. Comes with a long matching belt/scarf. This dress is made for dancing and feeling like a princess! There is one small stain in the skirt-I have not tried to get it out because its hidden within the ruffles and not noticeable. This piece has been kept and cared for in tissue paper for at least 40 years. It’s an absolute treasure! Measurements taken laid flat: Scarf: 86” Waist: 12” (this is the unstretched measurement; very stretchy elastic) Bust: 17” Hip: 20” (pretty free because of the circle skirt) Length: 25” from scoopneck to hem Sleeve: 20” *the tag is mostly missing but says a size 8. I don’t really know what that means because it was bought in Canada, 40 years ago. I would say it’s a small!
