noel23crane
calf circumference at the widest point?
Sep 10Reply

botablu
@noel23crane Hi. We can provide internal circumference at the shaft opening—we’ll have to pull them to obtain that. In the meantime, if you have a boot with a similar shaft height that fit you well, let us know what that measurement is and I can at least likely tell you yay or nay.

Are these true to size? I’m an 8 and my new frye boots run a little big.

botablu
@lydiasummerlin Hi. I would not recommend these for a size 8, no.
Sep 29Reply

lydiasummerlin
@botablu dang! They are absolutely beautiful

botablu
@lydiasummerlin They are beauties! We might have them in an 8 or larger—I’d have to double check.

botablu
@lydiasummerlin Our next size up in these exact ones is a 9 which could work for an 8.5. If that isn’t right for you, we have many other styles in your size.

Could you be so kind as to provide the measurements for the sole (placed against a wall, tip to heel) and the width or circumference of the top of the shaft, please?

botablu
@lucabeniah Hi there. Let’s start with what size(s), letter width, and internal shaft circumference on a boot of this height do you typically wear? We can probably tell you pretty quickly if they’ll work or not.

lucabeniah
@botablu Hiya. I have a couple of Frye boots, black label, similar styles. I only buy them if I know their measurements since the size does not say much, especially if they were made in the 1970s or 1980s. I would appreciate your providing the measurements –– that way I can compare them to the ones that I own and that fit me.

botablu
@lucabeniah Thanks for following up. Completely understand the request. Outsole measurements are not a reliable way to compare fit across different boots due to many factors & often prove more misleading than helpful (more info about this on our site). Since we specialize in boots, we can typically determine if a pair will work based on the sizing info we asked earlier. If you can share that, I’ll let you know if these are a yes, a no, or if they’re worth pulling from storage for a closer look.

@botablu Okay, I understand that the heel shape and height might factor into the sole measurement, I just used it in the past and it seemed to be a good starting point, i.e. at least the newly acquired boots fit well. Now, the boots that I own have a heel of a similar height, the sole (heel to tip, using a tape measure) is around 10 inches. The circumference at the top of the shaft (at the point where the shaft is "divided", creating "two wings", so to speak) has a diameter of about 7 inches

botablu
@lucabeniah We need to start with what size and letter width do you typically wear? When measuring a boot circumference, you’ll need a soft tape measure and measure around the internal aspect of the top of the shaft—inside.
5 days agoReply

lucabeniah
@botablu Wow....I usually wear 6.5, 7, 7.5. I am using a soft tape measure. As I wrote, I provided the diameter, not the circumference. The circumference of the shaft at the mentioned point is 15 inches.

lucabeniah
@botablu btw, I have boots size 8 as well. This is the reason I have asked kindly for the measurements.
5 days agoReply

lucabeniah
@botablu And, sorry, there is a typo, the circumference is about 14 inches
5 days agoReply

botablu
@lucabeniah If you typically wear a 7 to 7.5 standard or narrow width, and have standard to narrower calves, these will work. Those are the parameters in which we would recommend them. Outside of those parameters, we could recommend another size and/or style. If you’d still like the measurements, let us know.

lucabeniah
@botablu Thank you. I would still like to know the measurements, i.e. the circumference and the length of the sole for this pair ; )
4 days agoReply

botablu
@lucabeniah It will take a day or so until we get to pull these from storage for you.

lucabeniah
@botablu Thank you so much!

botablu
@lucabeniah Hi. Approximate measurements: length from wall 10-1/4”; internal circumference at shaft opening - just shy of 14”.

@botablu That's grand, thank you so much!
