Essex china is considered to be of excellent quality. The Summer Garden parttern was made in 1980 in Japan. It is rare and difficult to find so it's amazing to discover two pieces with their original Marshall Fields tags. These two dishes are in perfect, pristine condition. “Summer Garden” was designed by artist Gerald Patrick (recently deceased) and features vivid orange hibiscus flowers against a bed of deep green leaves. It is simply stunning! The plate is sized for salad or dessert and the cup is taller, perfect for coffee. Though they are made to eat and drink from, they are so lovely that you may prefer to use them as decor. Crosslisted.
