Manicina areolata, commonly known as rose coral, is a stony, colonial coral species of the brain coral family (Faviidae). It occurs in shallow water in the West Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, sometimes as small solid heads and sometimes as unattached cone-shaped forms.
I purchased this and a few other specimens several years ago, I did not collect them myself! Personally, I would not do that because I believe they should be left where they are (personal convictions). Since they were already collected, I couldn't say no. They are truly unique and beautiful!
Approximately 2" - 2.25" measurements taken from across bottom.
Smoke-free home shared with 2 kitties.
