Vintage Cross Stitch Country Haying Scene Hay Wagon in Front of Barn no signature, initials, or date Hand stitched Finished, completed Natural, cream colored aida cloth Beautiful, even stitches Condition: Pre-owned. Slight, even discoloration between the edge that was under the matting & the part exposed. As long as you mat to the same dimensions, won't see discoloration. It was professionally framed behind glass & judging by the framing, it was most likely framed in the 70s or 80s. Frame was in rough shape, so it has been removed. Stapled & taped to backing board. Staples show on front so it will need to be matted. Very tips of staples can be felt along theback edge through the fabric & backing board. It was framed using those sharp little diamond glazier points. A few of the points were inserted through the fabric on the backside & may have caused a few thread breakages. Please see last photo. It doesn't show on front & hasn't caused any fabric instability. I assume the masking tape isn't acid free & should be replaced. I will leave that up to the buyer to decide.
