Hill, Virginia from August 3rd to 9th. The theme for the event was 'The Adventure Begins...With America's Youth. Scouts in attendance numbered 32, 717. The opening show featured Steven Spielberg who spoke to the scouts about earning his Photography merit badge as his entry to filmmaking. It led him to make his first film about a UFO landing near Scouts camping. Also, President George H.W. Bush spoke to the jamboree and praised them for their leadership and role in confronting the problem of drug abuse. This group of pins is a find for the collector of boy scout memorabilia.
