This delightful antique inkwell is a wonderful square shape that would have been used as a portable desk accessory or just at the private home desk. The lid is marked Queen Victoria Crown Patent Improved London, & the vessel measures 1-3/4” square x 1-1/2” tall. I believe the top is brass, which has many years of patina, & the color ink that was in the well was red, judging from what’s left on the neck inside the cap. The thick glass base is sturdy & has some white haze inside which can be cleaned, but it’s really in wonderful condition, standing the test of time! Part of an extensive collection of antique inkwells & office ephemera, I’m downsizing for retirement & it can’t come along to the new home, so I’m hoping someone else who collects or just wants something cool on their shelves will love it! * I don’t issue returns or partial refunds, so please view pics & description thoughtfully, thanks!
