Priced to sell! Looking for the right collector. ♥ Azurite is a deep blue copper-based mineral produced by the oxidation of copper ore deposits. Azurite suns are a unique formation of this mineral. These suns form between layers of a clay mineral called kaolinite (the white matrix the suns are on). The color contrast is *stunning*. Pictures are taken in natural light! Despite the abundance of Azurite in other areas of the world, including Arizona, Mexico, and Namibia, Azurite suns are only found in Australia. The Malbunka Copper Mine is the only area on the planet with the specific conditions required to produce this type of formation. Malachite is found alongside blue copper-based minerals as a secondary mineral sometimes: it forms after a very long time, when the primary mineral decays over millions of years. This specimen is a rare and limited find that I've had in my collection since 2017. It's the only one I've seen with a green little Malachite sun, so it was a must have! (I managed a jewelery and rock shop at the time, so that is saying something...) Will come carefully packaged. I can't let this beauty sit in storage when it deserves to be lovingly displayed. Size: 3 3/4" × 2 1/2" × 1 1/4"

cbiernat85 @lydiadan1 Aw, Gemology gang! Thanks - I'm literally a certified nerd 😉 The store owner/GG who trained me let me go nuts with specimens because he said I was, "the only person in all these years who's as into this stuff as me."
