moonsongdeals@fifiouioui Thank you for your question! I'm not sure what the elastic was like originally, however it still has a good amount of rebound and stretch. When it is unstretched the waistband measures 15.5in, and the waistband can comfortably stretch to 21in. Thank you again and please let me know if I can be of any more help!
