Fully lined in black taffeta with a red polyester lining at waist area. This is a fabulous elegant and unique and maybe even rare surviving creation by Rompollo, who was a NY designer at the time. The layered increasing full velvet skirt of the dress was hard to capture on the mannequin so I have shown photos number1 and 2 show better the graduated layers. Photo # 3 shows close up of the hidden underneath black taffeta lining. Measurements:pit to pit = 16 inches Waist =28 inches. Center Back to floor=42 inches long. Circumference of bottom hem is 100+ inches A rich luxurious likely cotton velvet with the fabulous Black taffeta lining. Very well made with boned bodice and sides and center back zipper. In excellent perhaps never worn condition! Only label is the Rompollo label in photo#4 Not much info I could find on this designer but the workmanship is superb verified by a seamstress friend.
