These earrings are new and never opened, but the silicone backs are beginning to yellow. Items are packed carefully to prevent breakage or other damage. All items from my shop are inspected carefully. If I see any flaws, I take photos and mention them in the listing. I store all my items for sale in a clean, dry, fresh area. My home is smoke free. Some vintage items might have come from a home where people smoked, as I don't always know where some vintage items came from, but I never sell any vintage items that smell of smoke.
