Vintage Kenneth Townsend Lion ceramic tile This neat piece is tile Number 25 of an artwork series called Menagerie, designed by Townsend and made in England by Hereford Tiles The series featured stylized drawings of different animals, from a cow and donkey to a cockerel (rooster) and hedgehog This tile features a charming lion wearing a crown, befitting his status as king of the jungle The artwork was silkscreened onto the tile then fired and glazed This tile is hand stamped on the back with Thompson’s logo Measures approx 6” square Vintage condition with age appropriate wear, there is glue residue from where a hanger had been previously attached (photo 6) and some glaze peel on one side near a corner (photos 7-8) that isn’t visible from the front Please see all photos as part of the description (easel not included)
