This cup and saucer belonged to my mother. I believe it simply sat in her China cabinet all its life until I unearthed it in a box as we prepare to move to warmer and less taxed climes. I honestly would keep this it is so beautiful, but I have no room. So I would like it to go to a good home. In nice vintage condition, but I do see a small chip on the rim near the handle and on the base of the cup. There is a small darkish spot on the outside of the cup. I also see some small marks on some of the gold portions. They are not really noticeable, but they are there. I have taken these "flaws" into consideration in the price. It is quite a unique piece.
