The pendant was designed by Collins Fine Jewelry and is marked CFJ 925. Larimar is only found in a 1/2 square mile in the mountains ... Larimar is so rare because it is found in only one specific location on Earth—a single mountain range in the Barahona province of the Dominican Republic. Its formation is the result of a rare volcanic event, and extraction is difficult and limited by geological constraints, such as deep and narrow veins, and challenging environmental factors like heavy rainfall.
