Indigo Gabbro (aka Mystic Merlinite) Sphere with flashes!

This rock was newly on the 'crystal market' when I found this sphere (and a couple of 'dishes' or, potentially sphere holders) in the early 2000s. It is legitimately a 'rock' or a combination of different minerals, starting with feldspar. I Iove the silver shimmer (muscovite) in the black areas, contrasted with the purple and lavender colors. And with all that comes a shift in perspective, with perhaps some clarity. Diameter >3" (80mm) Weight ~1 lb 11 oz Origin: Madagascar circa 2006 Photos are taken with light and without, but I find the ones with a flashlight to be more representative (so you can see the purples, and, in the second photo, the silver). Please note that the nature of this rock lends to a rougher polish (it's shiny and smooth, but imperfect). If you would like to see the dishes, please comment and I'll do them next. They are rectangular polished chunks with a rounded hole in the center (thick and heavy). Again, I'll mention that my collection came directly from Africa, and did not go through the 'crystal mill' or trade shows. My stones were ethically and fairly traded, supporting small, family businesses.
