Vintage 1940's Orrefors Vickie Lindstrand Scandinavian Modern Art Glass Decanter Vicke Lindstrand was a Swedish painter, glass, textile, and ceramic designer. He is considered a pioneer of Swedish art glass developing new techniques and forms. This is a tall smooth art glass decanter for Orrefors by Vicke Lindstrand (1904-1983). The decanter stands 14 3/4" high x 4" wide and has a bit of weight to it. It is hand signed "Orrefors L 1683-121." The L stands for Lindstrand. This decanter is pre-1950. Mr Linstrand worked for Orrefors until 1950. This wine decanter was handmade and designed by Mr. Linstrand between 1926 and 1934. Mr. Linstrand started working for Kosta in 1950 so it is easier to find his designs for Kosta but the pieces that he designed for Orrefors are harder to find and older. When viewed from the top, it displays a series of circular reflections that give it an amazing appearance. Condition is very good. No chips. cracks or cloudiness.
