Rare Mid-19th Cent. English Hand-Colored Engraving Rosewood Gilt Shadowbox Frame

Antique circa 1850. Hand-coloured engraving of two of the native magnificent Brazilian hummingbirds, trochilus magnificus. Excellent condition, devoid of flaws, nor foxing. Beautifully coloured by hand in the mid-19th century. Framed in a shadow box frame consistent of the period. After John Gould, from the Omithological Illustrations.
