CHINESE SHIWAN MUDMAN FIGURE

A Chinese fisherman is depicted in this Shiwan mudman with his large fish basket that he sits upon ready to deposit his new catch. His face, legs and arms are all the matte mud/clay and the remainder is painted and glazed. He wears a top knot and his coolie hat lays on his back. Mudmen have been made for a 1,000 years but were much more primitive. He measures 7.5" in height, 5.5" wide and a depth of 3.5". The original stickers are still attached to the basket. He is in new condition. A striking piece of Asian decor to add to your collection or a handsome stand alone piece. Thanks for looking!
