Hand Made Shrug

This is an original work, but it's so simple there was no need to keep any pattern notes. I prefer to make my shrugs wider than long, instead of the traditional square design. This gives it a more cropped length and helps it to fall open in the front. It's meant to only hug the shoulders and cover your back. It looks fantastic with jeans and a tank top or over any basic shell dress with a chunky belt and matching shoes. It's 100% cotton, which means it's also a great beach cover. Dry off with it and then toss it on damp, any breeze becomes instantly cooled and the sun is off your back and shoulders. This piece was worked on the horizontal, giving the front a vertical striping effect. I used Dahlia Mixo in outer space and added in a strand of lilac crochet thread for the relief rows and trim. It measures 33" from elbow to elbow and is 21" long. The arm holes are 14" around.
