This is a beautiful, old, Theodore Haviland Limoges France butter dish. It is the saucer and strainer. The domed lid is missing. I could not find the pattern online. Some similar ones were considered art deco look. The mark on the back, with Theodore underlined , points to 1903.
Originally this would be used with water or ice underneath the strainer. The lid would make a seal with the water and preserve the butter. 🧈
