Antique Siam Nielloware Heart Brooch Pin w/ Ornate Diamond cutout edging

Antique estimating 1910's-20's Siam Nielloware Heart Brooch Pin w/ Ornate Diamond cutout edging This Highly collectable sweetheart piece is in really fantastic condition (especially considering age) Being an antique piece it will obviously show signs of wear with minor surface scratches, and patina, however there is nothing significant to note. In fact, the Nielloware, as well as the Sterling on this piece still maintain an incredible shine, that is hard to find in this day. Dating on this brooch can be fairly estimated based on Clasp (catch) style, and the fact that it is marked SIAM rather than Thailand (Thailand used to be known as Siam prior to it's name change in 1939) This catch is an example of a late design (handmade as well) "C catch" or early "Safety clasp" which you now know today as the common clasp on most brooches with a lever that rotates to lock and unlock the pin bar. This brooch displays the well known scene of Ramasoon pursuing Mekhala where he eventually throws his axe at her in an attempt to weaken her. The crystal ball in her hand deflects the blow, which creates a bright flash of light across the sky.
