A little more information: The McKee Glass Company of Jeannette, Pennsylvania, launched Glasbak Ovenware in 1917 as an affordable alternative to Pyrex. Renamed "Glasbake" later that year, its promise of "Sanitary Baking Ware and Serving Ware Combined" appealed to homemakers nationwide. Despite being overshadowed by Pyrex, Glasbake held its ground in sales, recording significant profits through the 1930s and 1940s. In 1951, McKee Glass was sold to Thatcher Glass, then to Jeannette Glass in 1961, which continued offering Glasbake until its closure in 1983. Rediscovered by vintage collectors seeking alternatives to Pyrex, Glasbake remains a popular choice today.
