To the best of my knowledge, I think these are akoya pearls. They were purchased for me individually since I was born in 1990. A family member purchased pearls a couple at a time from a jewelry shop in Blue Island, Illinois until I had enough to make a necklace. I had it strung in about 2006. The pearls are strung individually. I believe the string is silk. I know the clasp is a cheap one, not real gold. I do not have authenticity papers because I was a teenager and didn't realize the importance of saving them. I am selling because I am no longer on good terms with the family member who purchased it for me. I have only worn this one time, so it has not been damaged by skin oils. I am located in northwest illinois if you're close enough to want to purchase in person. I don't have an appraisal because I didn't want to pay for something without a guarantee of selling it. But I am willing to meet at a reputable jeweler who can verify that they're real. I've talked to a jeweler in the Quad Cities area who verified its worth, and I would be more than willing to pass her phone number to you. Feel free to reach out with any additional questions.
