This is a unique rustic vintage book cover/journal made from hardwood with blackened metal hinges and held together with cotton cord. There are blank pages inside with a consistency of cardstock, in my opinion. There are 22 pages. Pages are a light brown color with a nice, mostly smooth texture. The pages are able to be removed or replaced by loosening the cotton cord that binds the book together. There is no maker's mark and it looks to be handmade. This piece has an intentional "rustic" look with a beautiful presentation. There is slight wear to the cotton cord, shown in last pic.
