thedarningyarn @lauraldavis i assess their condition based on my own experience of the pairs I've cared for and seen and worn personally~~ I inspect the bottoms closely for all signs of ever having been worn~ friction, scuffs or scrapes on the tread, dirt or discolorstion of any kind. I inspect the leather for creases, dirt, scuffs, scrapes or stains, and the insoles for any signs of wear, baby powder, bare foot marks, dust & debris collected in toe box etc.; as well as all the trims & linings.

thedarningyarn @lauraldavis From all these observations combined, I assess their closeness to newness and extent of having ever been worn; and I clean, condition, and touch-up as needed & wherever possible. In my own life, i am committed to not purchasing factory new items, and I enjoy making things "new again", in whatever way possible, especially items that I love and are hard to find. thank you♡
