This watercolor and ink painting is of Jenny, the artist's daughter. It is a limited edition, #18 of 20. It is nicely matted but not framed. The artist is Colleen Moynahan McLean, born in 1929. She attended Cornish Art Institute in Seattle in 1947. She married Donald Angus McLean in 1950 and had nine children from 1951 to 1962. She went back to drawing when her children were small and she returned to art school in the late 1960s. Upon finishing art school, she traveled to several countries in Europe and came back home energized to do more drawing and painting. When her husband retired, they moved to Depot Bay, Oregon. She continued to paint in oil, pastels and acrylic. She had numerous juried exhibitions, several one woman shows and several group shows. She continued to paint until 2005. She passed away in 2014. Included with this item is a book entitled "Colleen Moynahan McLean ~ 50 years". It was published in 1996 and reflects many of her paintings and a brief history of her life.
