This is a type of compressed or composite turquoise material that is dyed Purple, often w/copper particles added to mimic a matrix. The particles come from combining spiny oyster shell, Kingman turquoise & bronze/copper, all of which are then dyed purple. Believed to possess powerful metaphysical properties.
