Hardback, 190 pages, published 2014.
This copy is in very good condition. A spot on the bottom of the spine is worn down to the pressboard (see pic #2) but this is cosmetic and doesn't affect the integrity of the book. The spine is strong and all the pages are intact. No scribbles, no tears, no stains, no dog-ears.
"Nikola Tesla was one of the greatest inventors of the modern era and was incredibly popular in his time. Nowadays all homes and electrical appliances run on Tesla's AC current. Born in Croatia in 1856, Tesla spoke eight languages and patented more than 700 inventions. He invented electrical generators, FM radio, remote control robots, spark plugs and fluorescent lights. He had a photographic memory and did advanced calculus and physics equations in his head. He was also an eccentric fellow. Prone to nervous breakdowns, he reported receiving odd visions in the middle of the night. He was germ-phobic and occasionally thought he was receiving electromagnetic signals from Mars. He might also have had obsessive compulsive disorder: he hated round objects and disliked numbers that weren't divisible by three. Tesla never married or had children, but Thomas Edison was his one-time assistant and lifelong arch nemesis."
This book is jam-packed with fascinating scientific and historical details! Unlike a modern personality associated with the name, this book makes clear that Tesla himself was an actual genius, not just a song-and-dance man-child and, ahem, liar. ⚡ 😇 ⚡
