This is a 7x5mm black star sapphire gem in a secure bezel setting atop smooth sterling silver. As one of my favorite rings, this metal shows a fair a amount of wear and the gem has a small line across it (that line was there when I bought it—it’s either a growth line or a scratch and not very noticeable)—priced accordingly. It’s a natural gem but I’m not sure if it ever underwent any treatments (such as heating or otherwise). Disclaimer: I’m not a gemologist—I’ve collected black star sapphires over the years and have never come across a lab-grown one, so my own research leads me to believing they’re natural, but please note that I’m not a professional.
