Dior skirt suit by John Galliano - vintage SS 1999

Dior “99 set is one of John Galliano’s earliest use of grey Glen Plaid, which would become a recurring motif at Dior during his tenure. This light wool fabric is treated with a a subtle iridescence, oil-slick effect, The blazer (expertly tailored ofc) feats buttons that mirror the same vibe. Galliano’s Dior SS99 collection drew inspiration from the romanticism of Victorian-era lpaintings, esp the works of Lawrence Alma-Tadema, bringing to life a tableau of classical with a modern twist. This skirt suit reflects that vision, combining timeless plaid with a contemporary finish. Size on label 42FR, approx a US10-12 Measurement estimates Blazer Bust 35” Waist 32” Length 25” Skirt Waist 30” Length 22” In very good vintage condition. No flaws, damage, or signs of alteration. Small mark on the shoulder and back . Light wear consistent with age. Button on skirt appears to be replacement.
