I wore this dress to a wedding and modified it so make sure you know what you’re getting into here! I shortened the straps but the stitches I made to do that can be taken out if needed. I cut out the padding in the bra part of the top. I also “hemmed” it and by that I mean I cut the gown in the front to the length I needed so I could walk. The fabric works with the raw edge well and would have been hard to sew. I showed the raw edge in the last photo. I dont think my non-skilled alterations were noticeable at the wedding. I am 5’6” and I wore this with 3-4” heels. This dress was so pretty - no reason it needs to go in a landfill - it still has life!
