Era: Likely 80s-90s
Measurements:
5.5” high x 3.5” wide (at widest point)

About:
A Kokeshi doll is a traditional Japanese wooden doll originating from the Tohoku region in the 19th century. Key characteristics include:
Handmade from wood, often sun-dried and polished.
Simple design with a round head and cylindrical body, lacking arms and legs.
Faces, clothing and decorations are painted directly onto the doll.
Originally toys for children, they are now collected as ornaments, gifts, and souvenirs.
Some believe they hold spiritual significance and can protect children.
Kokeshi doll makers have signed their work since the 1950s.
