This is sterling silver and 18k gold vermeil. Vermeil is different than regular plated fashion jewelry because it has a thicker layer of gold always over solid 925 sterling silver. It has 2.5 microns as opposed to just 0.5 microns that gold-plating has. This means it is a great long-lasting and durable alternative to solid gold pieces.
