14K Gold Australian Opal & Diamond Ring – Vintage 1990s Setting, Size 6.75

This one-of-a-kind ring pairs a luminous, newly set Australian opal with a vintage 14k gold setting from the late 20th century. The split-shank design wraps gracefully around a pear-cut opal alive with vivid orange, green, and blue fire. Two petite diamonds nestle on either side, adding just the right amount of sparkle. This ring was originally set with a dull synthetic cabochon. I sourced a natural opal from my lapidary who shaped it to fit the setting, and it took my breath way the first time I saw it! The ring maintains it's original 80s / 90s charm, such as the rhodium-plated prongs that subtly blend with the brilliance of the stones. The uploaded video shows some of the fire, but you really have to see it in person, especially for some of the red/orange flashes. It's a fantastic stone.
