Moissanite is a real gemstone that makes a really promising alternative to diamonds. While moissanite stones made for jewelry today come from a lab, they’re eco-friendly and 100% authentic, structured exactly like the natural mineral. Originating from the stars, moissanite was discovered to have come from a meteor strike when it was found in a crater in Arizona in 1893, about 90 miles southeast of the Grand Canyon. With their history, beauty and brilliance, their price-tag is shockingly low compared to natural or lab diamonds. With higher brilliance and slightly lower hardness compared to a diamond (9.25/10 on the Mohs scale, the 2nd lowest of any gemstone), it’s a no-brainer. PLEASE NOTE that this ring is in GOLD.
