I have been told that Sweet Manufacturing Company out of Massachusetts went out of business in the 1960's, perhaps early 1970's
This is a 20 Inch Sterling Silver Rhodium Finish Chain in its Original Package
Rhodium was often used on white gold as well as sterling to enhance Luster and Durability of the metal, while Preventing Tarnish and Fading It is also a Hypoallergenic Metal Today it is used in catalytic converters for our automobiles along with precious metals making the cost of these so high
During the 1960's the Price of Silver per Troy ounce rose from about 91 cents at the beginning of the decade to a peak of $2.57 in 1968
The Price of Silver as I post this item today is $39.74 per ounce (and going up)
The price of Rhodium in the 1960's was around $130 per Troy Ounce and as I post today the market can vary the price from $7,000 to $7,400 per Troy Ounce
